Vickie Singletary

Vickie Singletary is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is a small historical port town in southwest Louisiana where many artistic cultures of both the past and present have merged. Her artistic passions bring canvas to life through her unique techniques of sculpting the canvas prior to painting.

The artist's ability to develop texture and dimension with in each of her works of art, makes each piece unique and original. She is extremely passionate about pursuing and developing new textures to help express her abilities. Interior designers throughout the south are presently showing Vickie's works of art. Her original masterpieces have caught eyes of several private collectors both locally and abroad, including collections in other countries as of 2003.
   The artist had put away her brushes for 28 years and finally reached a place in her life that allowed her to "follow her bliss". During that 28-year hiatus from painting, her artistic passions of the heart flowed into other venues of expression such as interior designing, remodeling of homes, and beautiful garden designs for others as well as herself. Her heart has always been one of vision and creativity. This has been the constant throughout her life. Finally, after patiently awaiting the right time to dust off her brushes, the appropriate time was presented in April of 2002 and her visions began to flow. WOW!!! Is the best way to describe that moment, for an explosion of spirit filled her heart and flooded her canvasses with expressions of life. This wonderful passion has become an overflowing fountain of ideas and inspiration for her work. She completed thirty paintings and four commissioned pieces in the first year alone. Vickie's niche seems to be expressions of texture and color. She considers her style to be impressionistic with a modern romantic flair. Even though she attended an art school in her early twenties, she has allowed her abilities to be self-explored. The artist loves to soak up all possible experiences as she travels. She has traveled many roads throughout the United States, Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Italy, France, and England, which have all influenced new means of expression within each work of art. A comment heard often by Vickie is "it is amazing how each piece is so different." She believes this is a benefit of having a personality that becomes bored easily with the norm and her birth sign of Aries. She is always starting something new and different to keep her interests and passions flowing.

   Vickie's hope and desire is to inspire interior designers and collectors to become connected with the spirit of her body of work as well as appreciate her pieces for their individual style and uses as decorative art. Also, to enjoy the personal on site design service which allows each piece to be uniquely created specifically for the individual or client.

   The artist gives her gratitude to God for the inspirations that create her works of art, and it is with great pleasure that she offers her body of work.
